So you want to know more about me, eh?  Well, I’m a thirty-something mother to 2 wonderful children, 1 doggie and a cat. Those that know me would likely say that I am independent, outspoken, assertive, convivial, eternally optimistic and sometimes blonde.  I like to drive fast and take the long way.  I don’t have a lot of patience for stupidity, including my own.

I was born and raised in Tampa, FL. I have spent most of my life here, save for a few years in Jr. High and High School on the east coast in Melbourne. Most of my family also lives here. I was an only child until I was 18. My sister Bonnie came along in 1990, when I was 18 and already out on my own. Bonnie is now 20, in college and studying to be a green architect. I’m proud of the woman she is blossoming into.

My life has been far from easy but most of the hard times have been of my own doing. I’m pretty hardheaded, stubborn and inquisitive – which is typical for both redheads and Sagittarians. But with each adventure, I have learned something new and taken that lesson with me to the next phase of my life. In my professional career, I’ve been an IT/Telecom headhunter, Job Search Consultant, Resume Writer, Editor and Business Development Executive for the last 15 years. After years of making everyone else rich, I recently took a big leap and became an entrepreneur. My children are my world. I love them more than I can even begin to express with words.

My son Tyler is 16 and he loves music. He plays the guitar and the drums and he’s a natural at both. I think he’s incredibly talented, he says he’s a “beast”. He’s smart, handsome and sweet which are not beastly things at all. We love to joke around and we actually talk to each other, too.  He’s very open with me and I’m very glad he feels comfortable talking to me about things. Some may say I’m too liberal with him but I’m doing my best to give him wings. ♥

My baby girl Dixie is 7 and she’s as precocious as they come! She’s incredibly perceptive, highly intelligent and she will likely shock you with her observations at some point. Baby girl loves to read, draw, paint, write and make crafts – especially jewelry. She also loves, loves, loves her Nintendo DSi. She will likely talk your ear off about all of her favorite Pokemon and she can tell you just about anything you’d like to know about them. She has a beautiful smile and gives the best hugs and kisses.

As for love, I have lots of that in my life; and it’s about time! My significant other is Michael. ♥

He’s quite possibly the smartest, sexiest, sweetest man I have ever met. As a bonus, he’s 6′ 7″ and plays bass guitar – which makes him ULTRA sexy. He indulges me by learning to play Duran Duran songs. Rowr.

Michael and I share the same philosophy of love, peace and happiness. He’s my best friend and my partner in business. What can I say? We just click like that.

We celebrated 2 years together this past September and I have never been happier in all of my life. ♥

This is my beautiful blended family, which is now complete with the addition of Michael’s daughter Katie, who is 16. She’s a great kid and I love her like one of my own. She’s beautiful, intelligent and thoughtful – just like her dad. :) Katie is now the proud mama of a beautiful baby girl, named Zoey. Michael is still adjusting to the “grandpa” title, but he’s wearing it well – as evidenced by how cute they are together.

My animals are as nutty as the rest of us.  I have had a brindle Boxer named Duchess. She’s 10 years old and her snoring gets worse by the minute.  She’s a great dog – loving and protective, but stubborn.  She’s not supposed to sleep on the couch but she does it anyway. She still loves to play like a pup although play time is a bit shorter these days.

She loves kids but she’s not so fond of other animals. Unless they are in her house, then she’s ok with that. I have no explanation for that logic.

Duchess passed away suddenly on June 12, 2010. We will miss her terribly.

We recently added a rescue pup to our home. “Bear” is a 1 year old purebred chocolate Shar-pei. His ears look like they belong on a German Shepard but he sure slobbers like a Shar-Pei. Bear loves to play tug of war and fetch. He also loves to drive Duchess crazy. Oh and me, too. He’s messy! Bear is a great dog though and such a lover boy! His favorite place to be is wherever we are.

Last but not least is my beautiful kitty Snickers.

Snickers meows WAY too much. She also plays fetch. No, I’m not kidding.

When I take the dog for a walk, she likes to go with us. She follows us all the way and back.

She’s a little neurotic so she fits right in.

Mayonnaise is the most disgusting substance on the planet.

I am random and often blonde under all this red.

I believe in the ethical treatment of animals, but think PETA is a joke.

I’m the queen of whatever.

I sometimes have a foul mouth.

I’m Irish and Dutch. That explains a lot.

I love pink and purple and anything sparkly.

I’m 30-something and I still want a damn Barbie Corvette.
