I like what you wrote and I think it's good for folks to remember those who have/are serving more often. Of course, it does depend on where you are in the country as well. People in certain parts of California are very anti-military; but then I've been walking down the street while in uniform in many places in Texas and I get thanked by people as they walk past me. I've seen it all from Americans. I've been called a 'baby killer' and I've seen strangers buy steak dinner for 15 service members in a restaurant. The respect and thankfulness is there, just not in every place of the country. Well you know me!
