I too, love Twitter. I love the network and friendships I've developed there. Sometimes though, just like in real life, friendships suffer because we get busy. We can't just walk away, though. We have to keep reaching out when and how we can. Your schedule sounds like a good one! What I hate is when I do have the time but have nothing to say/talk about. LOL!

Great post, and there's many, many of us that can relate! It is a catch-22...we need to focus the money, but are compelled to continue interacting with our network because we know all to well the value of our connections.

I feel your pain - share your pain - and like Fran, do my best to hit it early and late. In fact, I've shocked myself by leaving a comment on a blog post in the middle of the day! Wow - I'm living on the edge : )

thanks again

I've been thinking about this since I read your post yesterday. How DO you make the time to keep your connections alive and still do the job that makes you money? I've read a lot of posts offering advice but none of it has worked for me when I am actively working on multiple searches.

I am an independent recruiter and when I get an assignment from a client to fill a job I usually have competition. Time is my enemy. Speed & focus is important. I source, qualify, interview and present (sell) my candidate to the client. That is just the beginning of the process that requires my total focus.

I LOVE Twitter & LinkedIn and don’t think I want to give them up. I have made valuable connections and friends through both and I really enjoy the social interaction. I work alone.....I do have my dogs but they don't answer me :-)

So, I've tried to start early - 6:30/7:00 and check in during the day in between calls and reading resumes....then back again at night. That is not exactly a strategy but so far it has kept me from drowning
