Please, be mindful this holiday season

As you go about your holiday routine, please be mindful.

When you blog or tweet about the wonderful gifts you’ve gotten or given, please remember that not everyone this holiday season is as fortunate as you. When you brag to your circle of friends about the wonderful holiday party you are throwing or the expensive dinnerware that you purchased just for the occasion, you may not realize how hurtful it could be. The economy has left a lot of victims in its path and while you may not be one of them, someone you know may very well be. You may not even realize the extent of their deprivation because most people try to hide it for as long as they can. It has a lot to do with pride.

So please, enjoy your holiday season to the extent that you are financially able. Just remember not to boast, or to place expectations on people. While this is a normally joyous time of year it is also the time of year where so many are struggling to find ANY joy. Just be mindful. Thanks.
