Well Chris, I wish I could say that about my son but in his case he's always asking for rides to his girlfriend's house (or from). But at least he's considerate and thinks of other people – he often does nice things for me “just because” and not because he wants anything. (Although sometimes he tries that, too).

My sister though, can't see outside of herself. I hope she grows out of it. Like, NOW.

With regard to your son, my daughter’s favorite words are “Oh, yeah (hesitation), I need to be at…”. It drives me INSAAAAAANE! She’s self-absorbed, but in a way, she has to be. She’s set a very high expectation for herself and you don’t manage that without being single-threaded in your pursuit.

With regard to the road to wisdom, I’m still figuring out important things. If they listen to me, they’ll come out with fewer scars, but they won’t know.

A friend of mine said that everything works out in the end. If it hasn’t worked out, it’s not the end yet. Mostly, I think that’s true.
